Our Story
Banríon was founded by Shana Orczyk Sissel, a CEO whose career began as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley, providing her with a foundational understanding of the wealth management landscape. Over the years, she broadened her expertise as both an institutional and retail allocator, with a pivotal introduction to alternative investments in 2007. This experience ignited a passion for the potential of alts and a commitment to evangelizing their benefits.
Following her tenure as Director of Investment Due Diligence & ASTRO Project Lead at Orion, she recognized a critical gap in the market: the lack of advisor-centric technology solutions for navigating the complexities of alternative investments. Frustrated by the limitations of existing platforms, she embarked on a mission to create a better solution.
In 2022, Shana launched Banríon Capital Management with the ambitious goal of delivering the most extensive marketplace of alternative investment opportunities to the wealth management channel. This vision centered on a fully flexible, open architecture platform empowered with tools designed to support advisors at every stage. Collaborating with like-minded innovators, Dmitri Alexeev, founder of AlphaBot, and Jud Mackrill of Mammoth Technology, she realized a shared vision: the first and only comprehensive alternative investment technology solution created for advisors, by advisors.
